It started, as most good Irish ideas do, over a pint.
Two friends. A pub. The kind of conversation that wanders from one thing to the next, until someone says "wouldn't it be great..."
What if you could have your own name above the door? What style of pub would it be? A city pub, all red brick and warm light, or a little seaside local with a bicycle leaning against the wall?
The idea grew from something we both felt strongly: that Irish pub culture is something genuinely special. Not just for those of us lucky enough to live here, but for the millions across America, Australia, Britain and beyond who carry Ireland with them. Visitors come from around the world and are stopped in their tracks by it. We sometimes forget that. We wanted to do something that honoured it.
And so we set about creating it properly. We commissioned two original illustrations, a City Pub and a Seaside Pub, hand-drawn by one of Ireland's leading illustrators, crafted specifically to capture the soul of an Irish pub in every last detail. Not generated. Not templated. Drawn.
Then came the details that make it yours.
Every real pub has a year it opened its doors, the year it became part of the community, part of the story. We put that same tradition on your sign. The EST. year isn't just decoration. It's the year that means something to you. The year you were born. The year you got married. The year your family arrived in America, or the year you finally made it back to Ireland.
